This is a vintage Roman Cap Co reproduction of the Houston Colt .45's caps worn by the team in the early 1960's， marketed as part of the "Cooperstown Collection". This cap was purchased in the 90's and has only been displayed， never worn. Although Cooperstown Collection is still releasing new products every year， they no longer sell this particular model.This style of cap was worn by the Colt .45's from 1962-64， their inaugural three years in MLB， before they moved into the Astrodome and became the Astros. It features their ".45s" logo in orange block font on the front. The body and bill of the cap is black and the button is orange. Roman makes top-quality caps in the USA - the headband is made of leather， for example， not the fabric or plastic materials found even if some better-quality competing caps. The Colt .45's endured three pretty miserable seasons as cannon fodder， but they always had the hapless other expansion team， the New York Mets， to look down on. They began to build a farm system and acquire and develop players; like Rusty Staub and Jim Wynn， that would eventually help them contend just a few years later. The cap's original tag was removed for display and tucked in the headband. We have several more Cooperstown Collection caps， as shown in the final picture， among our nearly 100 similar vintage caps in excellent， unworn condition available， all different colors and styles.We are listing these as qucikly as we can， but in the meantime we'll ship any number of our caps within the Continental US at no additional shipping charge beyond what you pay for the first one at its listed price.
